Rory Perry's Weblog Law, technology, and the courts Government bloggers
Barbara Haven is building "an annotated list of egov blog resources" as a way to share knowledge in lieu of travel during tight budget times. Here's the start of her list. 1:06:42 PM [Permanent Link]A personal aside I appreciate this pointer to a wonderful LOC study about folklife in the southern coalfields: Tending the CommonsI stumbled upon this study once before when doing some research on homebrew. Very interesting audio files about herbal remedies, folklife practices, and old tunes. Having lived all over the state (including the Tygart Valley, where we received over 11 feet of snow one winter), married a woman from the southern coal fields, and travelled all over interesting pockets of West Virginia, I can say that the way of life documented in the LOC study continues today in many parts of the state. Which is part of why I love it here; there's always a close reminder that there's a lot more to life than what we read on the screen. 11:00:42 AM [Permanent Link]
