One day and 450 miles to Laramie Wyoming. We must have passed 100 18-wheelers along the way as well as some very desolate yet beautiful country.

Although this is a college town, the kids here don't sit around coffee shops sipping java. Oh no. They choose to spend a pleasant spring evening drag racing their beat-up pickup Ford pickups and hand-me-down Chevy Novas...right outside of our Motel. Oh for a set of ear plugs.

I'm heading out for a cross-country drive from Salt Lake City to Boston today, so I will most likely add to the blog just once each night...hopefully with some travel photos, tips, and Jack Kerouac-esque insight into this great country of ours as seen from life "on the road."

If you've ever spent an hour or two trying to navigate your way through the code for a 30 minute SMIL-based streaming show, you know just what a confusing (ok damn'd frustrating) standard SMIL can really be, especially when you combine multiple audio, video, and slide sources. Well, Fabio Arciniegas at O'Reilly has done all of us at SMIL-anonymous a favor and written a nice blog entry entitled "A Realist's SMIL Manifesto."Amen brother.
