If you've got a wireless access point and a kind heart, try Warchalking. You can easily denote its ssid and whether it's closed, open, or wep-enabled. A pretty cool idea from Matt Jones. Maybe someone should forward this idea to Starbucks.

With the inevitability of an onrushing avalanche and about the same amount of subtlety, July 31st is quickly approaching, bringing with it Microsoft's Upgrade Advantage and Software Assurance licensing schemes. Known collectively as Licensing 6.0, these programs will purportedly grant licensees instant and frequent access to new product releases.

As for me, in reading through Microsoft's voluminous support materials for Licensing 6.0, I couldn't help but picture of myself as the hapless tabi from Monty Python's spectacular skit, "Confuse the Cat."

If you feel the same way, then you may appreciate today's Webcast from Microsoft and a number of industry think tanks, designed to ease your concerns and clear up any confusions. All I can say is good luck to us all.
