As I type, Peter and I are in the Alaska Airlines Boardroom at the Seattle Airport. We should have been winging our way home by now. However, our plane was hit by lightning on the way into Seattle (we were on another flight so we did not experience the thrill of a lightning strike which is o.k. by me). The lightning strike melted an important rubber gasket. The gasket can only be replaced at 65 degrees - which it is not here in Seattle. We all remember what can happen if a rubber gasket malfunctions because of cold weather. Kaboom.
Fortunately, Alaska has swapped planes and we should be on our way within an hour. sigh...This makes for a very late arrival in Anchorburg.
