I kept a pictoral picture of the wedding dress construction - well, at least the later phases of construction. The early phases consisted of the base layers and although they were very interesting, they didn't make for particularly good photos. At least I didn't think so - I'm not real fond of myself standing there in my underwear with just the top two muslin base layers of the dress. A little too exposed for my tastes.
Anyhoo, the shots below are from the last two fittings. The top layer of silk had been draped and tacked onto the base layers. The second to the last fitting was focused on the perfecting folds and the back. The final fitting was a test run of the almost finished product - the draping and back were complete.
Unfortunately, I don't have a good picture from the front with the final product. We'll all have to wait until the professional pictures come back from the photographer.
So, here are Kirsten and Cheri at the second to the last fitting. The dress is on "Edith Head-Less", the dressmaker's dummy.
I incuded this picture of Cheri and Kirsten - my master dressmakers - in the wedding program. You can tell there's a wedding dress behind them. But no details are revealed - no sneak peeks allowed prior to the bride walking down the aisle.
