Today is the 41st anniversary of the day Mom and I arrived in Alaska!!!!
We drove all the way in from the Canadian Border in one day - I think Mom had us on the road by 4:30 AM. We arrived in Anchorage in the early afternoon and immediately checked into Anchorage's best hotel, the Westward Hotel (now the Hilton).
I still remember vividly remember that day - and I was only 6 years old. But, no matter what your age, your first day in Alaska is a very memorable day.

I've had three wedding dress fittings - all three of which were for various combinations of the five layers that go underneath the top layer which is a gorgeous dupioni silk.
However, today I got to view the proposed draping for the silk. Everything was all set up on a dressmaker's mannequin and wow!!!!!!
It was absolutely amazing. I am very excited.
Of course, I can't post any pictures. Bad luck for the groom to see the dress before I actually waltz down the aisle on "W" Day.
