Today would have been Clemmie's 14th birthday. She died almost a year ago, on August 30, 2006.

She was such a grand old dog and I still miss her very much. She was my partner and buddy in so many things.

Poor Tyge. He has such big paws to fill!!!!

Well, the number of days between now and August 12th are rapidly dwindling.

I've had tons of folks ask me how the planning is going. At this point, I have to say, that we've moved beyond the planning stage and are now into the implementation stage.

That doesn't mean that all our tasks are done or that we're not getting hit by little daily crises. My current favorite crisis is that after a summer of stops and starts, the municipality has all at once decided that next week is the week that they will rip up the asphalt in front of Brown's Point Park - the site for our wedding reception.

That would not be good. We (government hill) want them to rip up the asphalt - we have landscaping plans. However, at this point in the game, it would be very nice if they could wait until the week of August 14th.

I've sent a pleading email to the Municipality. Hopefully this will work out.

Via Pooh, some very interesting commentary regarding Floyd's drug test. In many cases, the media has been mis-speaking - not a huge shock there. Floyd's testosterone levels were not high - they were normal. It was the ratio of testosterone to epitestosterone that was out of balance. And we all know that a ratio consists of a numerator (the top number) and a denominator (the number on the bottom of the fraction). So, if a ratio is out of an expected range, that can be the result of irregularities in either the numerator or the denominator.

In this case, the levels of epitestosterone were very low - hence the irregular ratio results. Epitesosterone is not a precursor to testosterone.

Anyhoo, it all gets very complicated. It's just that in this case, I really want Floyd to be clean. sigh...
