Today was the 15th annual Government Hill 4th of July neighbor picnic. Nothing beats this picnic for fabulous gourmet food, drink, and great neighbors!
This year, in lieu of fireworks, the engineers in the group put on a show with that now-famous combo of Mento's and Diet Coke. And wow! It worked as advertised!
Here's Bob stringing the mentos on a thread. The mentos thread will then be threaded through a plastic cap that just happens to fit a one liter bottle of Diet Coke. The mentos on a thread thing allows for more mentos that if one were to attempt to shove a handfull of mentos into the top of a liter bottle of Diet Coke.
Next are the final preparations - pouring off just a bit of the Diet Coke out the bottle.
