One of our neighbors, a member of one Anchorage's oldest and most prosperous families, is selling his home (a fabulous 50 year art deco structure that was originally the home of KENI radio) and permanently relocating to California.
He had orginally intended his "garage sale" to be a sort of private, friends only event. But the Alaska Ear got wind of it and all of Anchorage is preparing to queue up to sight see and to, oh yeah, shop.
The garage sale is today and tomorrow. Because of the expected traffic circus, the neighbors were invited to a pre-sale showing. So, Mom, Carla and I wandered over on Wednesday evening. There was lots of fabulous (and expensive) art - Lichtenstein, Wegman, etc. Just about everything was way out of my price range.
But there was one little guy that was affordable and wanted to come home with me! He also decided that he'd like to be a working moose, so now's he's ensconced in my office at Corporate America.
