Oh, oh, oh. Stop stop stop.

Don’t read the earlier, um, yesterday’s post. This one is a much better setup than that. Let Joanie explain it.

By the way, friggin’ frick-frack! Today—not my day. And why should it be? Pfft.

Skipped the party where I was hoping to cadge someone into introducing me to a certain someone upstairs, as a notoriously hard-to-get consultant had finally come in for a couple of days; so I spent hours appeasing him watching the clock. Oh well, learned a lot. No, I didn’t. But we did find some additional sources of contention in the database that they have some ideas for removing; of course once the words “dirty read” came out, I could point to a number of fruitful SQL prospects for hacking optimization myself.

Plus the one time I’ve asked for time for a carefully-planned vacation this year they nix it, and Matt seems fairly incensed by the appeasement contortions I’ve been doing in the wake of this rejection, so I don’t feel as guilty about being upset. Looks like I’ll be working in Philly at some points in the next two weeks I was really hoping I wouldn’t.

And if JS is here this week, I probably have to ask for time over the forty-hour cap.
