Keith Tyson had a great show at the Venice biennale in 2001 and is the most interesting of the nominees this year (although the 7-2 outsider according to William Hill). More on Tyson at Venice: Artrumor (funny), Leonardo (serious). Tyson and Do-Ho Suh (Korea) were the Biennale highlights. For books on Tyson, rodcorp recommends: Head to Hand and the catalogue for Keith Tyson at Kunsthalle Zurich.
In last year's Turner Prize, controversial artist Martin "nothingness" Creed saw off favourites installationist Mike Nelson and the overrated photographer Richard Billingham to win "for his conceptual piece which consisted of an empty gallery space with the light going on and off". See: his grin as he stands next to Madonna, having pockected the cheque and a mostly positive profile by Adrian Searle in the Guardian.
Keep your eye on these two.
