Yesterday, I was intrigued by a short story from Ananova, the virtual UK News anchor (I insist on UK for spelling reasons).
A website claims to be able to analyse your character through your favourite colours.
It asks the user to click on a selection of eight colours in order of preference and then gives a short diagnosis.
This site is Colorgenics.com. On the home page, I read this:
By choosing various colors, in order of preference, from a color spectrum, it is possible to ascertain various characteristics of a person at a specific time.
I've seen more foolish things before, so I decided to try it.
After skipping the Flash intro, I went for the following colors: yellow, blue, red, green, brown, purple, grey and black in this order.
[Warning: Disable your pop-up killer program (if you use one) before trying to get your profile.]
A pop-up window quickly appeared with "my" profile. It said (among other things):
You are constantly hoping that your good fellowship and attitude and your 'love for your fellow man (or women)' will give you peace of mind. You need people - people around you to care for you and to show you that they care.
You are a leader in every sense of the word. You know where you are going and you know what you need to do in order to get there.
And on, and on. Great stuff! It looked like me, and I felt good.
Just to see, I decided to try the color sequence in reverse order. Here are some of the results:
Everyone feels despondent at times and you are no exception. You are feeling so depressed because it seems that everything that could go wrong has gone wrong and you don't quite know which way to turn. So like the proverbial ostrich you are trying to bury your head in the sand. But that won't work - you have to face reality.
At this time you don't particularly like yourself. Everything that you have tried to do seems to have gone wrong. This makes you feel that there is no point in trying to start again.
I'm happy to see my *real choice* was the correct one.
