Are Asperger's individuals interested in sex? Obviously, many date, marry, have sex, and so on, but my sense is that young men with Asperger's are not as motivated as "neurotypicals" to have sex. One AS patient of mine told me, "I don't understand why guys would download free pictures of naked women" on the internet...its just not right." To the extent that AS is related to the autism spectrum, we might assume that AS individuals tend to be more interested in objects, rather than people. And so, a focus on other individuals as romantic or sexual "targets" (forgive the 1970's behavioral term) would be diminished. Food for thought?
