Astronomers Say Asteroid Won't Hit Earth. "A giant asteroid that astronomers initially thought could crash into the Earth in about 17 years will instead pass harmlessly by, scientists at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory said." My 6-year old son wrote to me when he heard about the asteroid: "it's too scary looking to me ;(. I know, it's a long time; but the closer the time the more worries..." No need to worry, honey.
