Oh, it seems like I'm almost the last one noticing Gerhard's weblog :-)
4:29:22 PM

Cocoon committer Gerhard Fröhlich has a new weblog.
4:21:55 PM

Enterprise architects and developers who use Web services to integrate transactional systems need to be aware of the current Web service challenges. Ignoring or not intelligently planning for these issues can lead to poor system performance or corrupt application data, particularly if the Web services are used as an RPC mechanism.

(für ihrwisstschonwen :-)

One issue the author still doesn't take into account is transaction recovery after a system crash. For established transactional systems a significant amount of effort has been put into recovery. If you ignore transaction recovery, the higher the transaction volume gets the more likely you are to find your system in an inconsistent state after a crash. That's basically the D in ACID.

I just came across the JavaOne coverage of Cedric Beust. I know, a little late :-)
The very last sentence caught my attention: Keep a close eye on Eclipse, it's going to change the way we write code.

Actually Cedric is an engineer of BEA Weblogic and EJBGen is Cedric's private one man project.
