Adopt a greyhound NV If you want a sweet, docile dog, a greyhound may be just your ticket to doggie bliss. And greyhounds deserve your love too: "They've never been in a home, never been hugged, on stairs, carpeting or linoleum," according to the founder of Nevada Greyhounds Unlimited, Gay Holst, and yet, they are  loving, mellow couch potatoes.

You don't necessarily have to go to Nevada, if you want to adopt a greyhound. Greyhound rescue organizations operate in many states and you can also often find adoptable greyhounds at pet adoption fairs sponsored by Petco and Petsmart, two of the largest pet product suppliers in the US. 

We considered getting a greyhound, but our fencing wasn't  high enough.
