Intriguing new pet products...

Farting Fido? Try the Canine Diaper  The canine diaper even comes in a 'thong' model (where's the photo?, please), for Fido's indiscrete moments, thanks to Flat-D,  a diaper company which also manufactures diapers and pads for people:

"These pads use a high tech filtering media that was originally developed for the British Chemical Defense Establishment, to provide protection to its soldiers against nerve gas and other toxic vapors associated with chemical warfare. Activated charcoal cloth is well known in the medical field for eliminating odors in liquids and gases. You cannot tell visually when a pad is used up or fully absorbed..."  [Flat-D]

Oddly related and hilariously funny: caution,  f-o-u-l four letter words used:  CausticTech does a rant on bloggers and other self-important people: "ok...the next time your spewing your next diary entry, please remember...it's just not that important. there's a reason why the words diary and diarrhea are very similar sounding..." [via Scobleizer blog] (Sounds like we need to buy ourselves some diapers from Flat-D. )

If your dog is farting too much, maybe it's his dog food. Did you know that 'food rarely retains its nutritional value beyond 6 months..." [Journal Times]

Paw Pads promise to keep Fido's paws from slipping [Business Wire; Google Search] Holy cow! I've been trying to invent this; every time we take our dogs to PetSmart or Petco, they end up slipping and sliding over slick floors:

'PaW PaDs, a patent pending self-adhesive non-slip product that is die cut in the shaped of a dog's pad, is a remarkable alternative to dog boots and shoes. "91% of the dogs tested didn't realize they had anything on their foot...' [PaW PaDs]

If Paw Pads work as promised, they may even save some dogs from certain death: every year, dog dies from licking ice melt chemicals from their paws: Tiny dog's death attributed to ingesting de-icing chemicals [Record Courier]

A 2004 moment to abhor? '...dog-as-ultimate-fashion-accessory. A tiny dog combines the best qualities of a quiet husband and a gaudy brooch.' We all know gaudy brooches are out, but I beg to differ that tiny dogs will ever lose their fashionable cachet... [Journal Gazette]
