dashboard.jpg

finally shipping: the ambient office dashboard. the dashboard operates wirelessly & displays real-time, at-a-glance information (e.g. stocks, weather, traffic, currency conversion, email status, allergy index). note: some 'wireless' information requires a monthly premium fee (& it only works in the USA). Somehow I don't think so, but we'll learn more in a few months when ACM's <interactions> has an issue focusing on ambient intelligence. See my teaser at http://www.fredsampson.com/interactions/ambient.htm.

A response to Peter's UX-is-dead remarks:

Is UX Dead?. In 1897, Mark Twain wrote (in a widely-corrupted quotation), "This report of my death was an exaggeration." That's what I thought when I read this provocative post by Peter Merholz. . .

. . . "UX" dead? It's just slumbering, awaiting those willing to grapple with its size and preach its gospel. By noemail@noemail.org (Dave Rogers). [UXCentric]
