Peter Boersma plugs Gerrit and Carolyn's team for SIGCHI office:

Gerrit for President!. Last week I heard that my graduation professor Gerrit van der Veer has been nominated as a candidate for the Presidency of ACM SIGCHI. . . Carolyn Gale, Gerrit's team-mate, isn't a bad choice either. . . So, if you receive a ballot to vote for the 2006 SIGCHI Officer elections, you know who to vote for! Go Gerrit! By noemail@noemail.org (beep). [[BEEP]]

In response to which, Keith put in a generous plug for me in a comment.

I hope those ballots come out soon so we can get this over with!

Happy Birthday, Jim!

50 Years Of Jimbobbery. . . Please join me in wishing one of my favorite humans a happy birthday. Today Jim Kloss celebrates one-half century on earth. The average life expectancy for a man of his age is 78.3, so his life is 63.9% over. The good news, however, is that we can expect another 28.3 years of Whole Wheat Radio. [The J-Walk Blog]

I haven't been listening to WWR much lately[~]something about too much work and too little spare time for enjoying podcasts[~]but I sure wish Jim the best on this auspicious occasion. His was one of the very first podcasts I started listening to when I picked up my iPod; for that matter, WWR was one of the first podcasts, period. Thanks, Jim!
