The natural result of expanding industry in China, including their tremendous demand for oil, is the inevitable export of air pollution:

One-quarter of LA's air pollution: made in China. . . on certain days almost 25 percent of the particulate matter clotting the skies above Los Angeles can be traced to China, according to the United States Environmental Protection Agency. Environmental experts in California predict that China could eventually account for roughly a third of the state's air pollution. Link [Boing Boing]

Now, what's that going to do to, say, precipitation that loves to form around particles floating around in the air?
