The 12-team ACC football alignment maintains some key rivalries, but breaks up the traditional Big Four NC schools so that, for example, UNC will not play Wake Forest every year, Duke and NC State meet irregularly, etc.

Here's a question I haven't seen answered yet: What happens to Boston College's elite hockey program? The ACC doesn't have an ice hockey championship, and I don't think any ACC school even has a varsity hockey team.
