Five months now with a headache. At least after today, NoseSucker again believes there is a medical reason I asked for pain relief.
Second CAT scan shows my skull is now once again entirely full of infection, just like it was six weeks ago before surgery.
"You are a very unusual patient, you!" he said.
I'd like to think that maybe along with my unique personality, style and collection of various gifts and abilities comes some unique physiology.
NoseSucker again pointed out various features in the structure of my skull which make this a difficult case. "At least we can see the septum stayed straight," he chuckled cheerfully.
Given the choice of another more extensive sinus surgery (which will involve drilling through the roof of my mouth this time to get the hard-to-reach cavities) or super hospital-caliber only antibiotics, we decided on the latter. Now it's twice a day, every day into the hospital to sit there and watch drugs drip into a new shunt in my hand.
Better than having to stay in the hospital. At least at home I have my TiBook and my internet connection. And now that NoseSucker believes there's still something wrong, at least I have some medicinal relief from the headache that never ends -- just occasionally fades away.
