Well, here's what my face looked like all swoolen up after surgery. NoseSucker couldn't believe my face had swelled so much, and began castigating me for not having applied ice on it during the day and a half I was home between surgery and my visit yesterday. Then I told him that the hospital gave us no clue that we could put ice on it. Then my wife told him the same. Then, for good measure, my mother-in-law told him the same. Then, NoseSucker assured us he would be speaking with the surgery center.
Well, anyway -- with my face all swelled, the meds NoseSucker gave me were not helping much, so we called him to ask for something stronger. He agreed, but said since it was narcotic that Kim would have to drive in and pick it up personally. He couldn't just phone it in to the pharmacy.
So Kim left about 1pm that afternoon. Around 1:30pm, Kim came walking back in the house rather shaken up and saying, "Jeff, I just rolled the van."
Praise be to God above that she's fine. A few bruises where the shoulder-strap and lap-strap went across, bumped her knee a bit -- but otherwise ER docs and x-rays confirm she's fine. Afterwards, while the sherrif was investigating the accident and finishing things up, he just kept saying "Ma'am, I just can't believe you're still walking around after that."
I am terribly glad, for one, that she's just fine. I don't know what I'd do without that woman in my life.
