Got the official Mother-in-law seal of approval on my recovery this afternoon -- she went back home :-D
I happen to have one of the world's greatest mother-in-laws. She's not the stuff of nightmarishly bad movies, but a person I really feel comfortable being around and in whose company I do find comfort.
She came right up as soon as she heard word of Kim's van wreck, was waiting here at the house before we even got back from the hospital in fact. Spend the next few days chauffering us back and forth from this insurance guy meeting to that follow-up doc visit to the other car-dealer and so forth.
We did get enough word from the insurance company for our banker to give us the go-ahead on picking up another van. It's actually nicer in every way (though one year older) than the one that crashed.
The other very great news is that I really do think the doc got the bad stuff out this time. I have not had one bit of pain in the sinuses above my eyes since the surgery. What other pain I've had in the rest of my sinuses has been decreasing steadily daily.
Really, the only part that's uncomfortable are my cheeks -- where the doc unhooked 'em from my face so he could go up underneath and clean out the bad gunk, and then sewed 'em back to my jaw where they belong.
So the Mother-in-law has been astounded, comparing the days that followed my last surgery less than four months ago with these last few days... I'm almost getting back to my happy, obnoxious, calm-minded self it seems.
Thank y'all for the prayers and support during my crankiest of irritable days. And man do I dig my Mother-in-law!
