blogosphere(4^2) = 16b
Sifry Updates Web 2.0 Preso: Man, A Lot of Folks Are Blogging!. Dave Sifry of Technorati has updated his "State of the Blogosphere" presentation from Web 2.0 last October. The growth in blogging is really amazing. From his note announcing his new findings: "Technorati is now tracking over 7.8 million weblogs, and 937 million links. That's just about double the number of weblogs tracked in October 2004. In fact, the blogosphere is doubling in size about once every 5 months. It has already done so at this pace four times, which means that in the last 20 months, the blogosphere has increased in size by over 16 times." Dave will be adding more to his presentation, so keep an eye on his site.... [John Battelle's Searchblog]

JotSpot
Is JotSpot an Open Company?. Here at JotSpot we honestly want to be an 'open' company. Transparency, "do no evil", real conversation with your market -- these are a few of the hallmarks of an open company in 2005.

Random bits of evidence suggest we're trying. For example our CEO Joe Kraus talks straight talk to customers about a situation we're embarrassed about, or blogs about openness within a company. And our CTO Graham Spencer blogs about our commitment to open data...

But how might we measure our openness? Jonathan Nolen recently posted his version of an open company test, and I thought it would be interesting to take it for a spin. Here we go, one by one.

Decibully - I am the Bug (MP3)
Decibully [2].

Decibully is a group made up of ex-Promise Ring and Camden members. Seven members overall, the group has a very trippy and spacey midwestern rock country-esque feel that includes a lap steel and a banjo. “Penny Look Down” and “On The Way To Your Hotel” are from their newest album, Sing Out America.
