As The Poets Affirm [1].
I guess it is common knowledge around here that I have been digging the post-rock instrumental bands that have been popping up over the past few years. Bands like Mono, GodSpeed You Black Emporer, Tarantula, and Mogwai all have become favorites and staples of my music library. I guess it’s safe to say I have added another to the list.
The band is As The Poets Affirm. Using literature and the visual arts as inspiration, the band has some enjoyable intricate songs, that mix a bit of classical with soaring, sometimes explosive, atmospheric space rock. I cannot get enough of this genre of music. As The Poets Affirm doesn’t seem watered down and their sound isn’t as so much like the others I listed above. The band has their own unique sound which is great to see and hear as I imagine we’ll be getting more of the same from like minded individuals in the future.
