Faust Illustrations
Faust. Eine Tragödie. Of course, I'm a fan of old wood engravings. That's why I've created a flickr set with a few Faust illustrations by someone only known as F. Simm. I did a Google search, but I didn't get far.Anyway, this particular Faust edition is probably from the 20's or 30's - although, if the above F. Simm is the right F. Simm, then it must be an earlier edition. It was published by Deutsche Verlags=Anstalt, Stuttgart und Berlin. Perhaps Paperholic (or even Dr. Wohlers?) might know more about this edition. I really don't want to compete with soilworker, whose Faust of the week is still the best you can find on the web - but I just had to scan those fabulous wood engravings.
