8 miles this morning, the last semi-long run of the training. . .this week, run 3 on Tuesday, 4 on Wednesday, then 1 or 2 on Saturday before the race. . .I don't think I've ever had a goal to work towards for 18 weeks and this has been tough but rewarding. . .

I've noticed some restlessness in my legs over the last week and some irritability in my attitude, both symptoms of the taper from a max of 50 miles a week down to the 9 of next week before the race. . .I'm excited about the challenge. . .scared of the chance of failure. . .nervous about vacationing with my parents while focusing on the real goal of the race. . .happy to have some of my life back after next week. . .sad to be going without K. . .thrilled at the chance to accomplish a huge milestone in my training. . .

With so many emotions stemming from the same event, I think relief is going to be the main one I feel when it's over. . .
