I've just come back from Kalamaki (No.7 on the map), at Dennis's  Sugar Reef Bar, a dedicated sports bar run by an Australian-Zakynthinian sports buff, and Springbok rugby fan, where I watched the first TriNations rugby match, from a chilly, rainy Jade Stadium in Christchurch.  The All Blacks out-penaltied the Wallabies by 4 to 2, for a 12-6 victory. I was amazed, and scandalized to see that the All Blacks have apparently gone All White!  Not a Maori, Tongan or Samoan in the team, who are overwhelmingly sourced from the Canterbury Crusaders.  How un-PC!  What about their quota commitments?  I hope that Sports Minister, loose-lips Ngconde Balfour blows his top to the NZRU, and that the ANC Youth League invokes rolling mass action, demonstrates when the (less-than) All Blacks arrive in SA soon, and prevents any unrepresentative team playing on our hallowed soil. 3:07:08 PM    comment []
