The Roblog!
A forum for distributing news, insights and musings about our life in Greece, an exile's view of South Africa, other topics of interest, and for exploring this new medium and my own creativity. Maybe make some new friends and/or enemies? Let's see.

Whew!  Things can get intense in bloggingland!  Innocuous-looking pointer on Scripting News takes one straight into an anti-Dave tirade, where he manfully tries to defend himself.  Look after your heart, Dave!  Seems there really is bad blood between Dave and Rebecca, as I hinted at, tongue in cheek, a couple of days ago. (Simply must learn to do those permalink things!)

And what's this?  A whole blog dedicated to trashing Dave Winer?

Personally, I think the best-reasoned comment in the whole package was from Peter Drayton, who said:

As for Dave's personality? Get over it. He's opinionated, but that is also why he's interesting. You don't have to agree with everything he says, but you have to respect the fact that he's passionate & articulate about the things he believes in and has contributed greatly to the mainstreaming of the blogging community. If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen - responding to a critical review with personal attacks & an open threat is unconscionable, and people that hide behind pseudonyms and contribute to longstanding personal attacks aren't worth the air they're consuming.

Oops!  Didata's ticketing system for the Cricket World Cup has been a disaster.  Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of guys.  I wonder why the organizers didn't use the Claremont Rotary Events Office and their partners, who have quite a bit of experience with high-volume online entry systems?
