DISTRACTED: Bill Synder, Kansas State Head Football Coach

TOPEKA, Kan. -- Topeka Capital-Journal reports brushes with the law this summer involving several members of the Kansas State football team have commanded the attention of coaches and players.

ARRESTED: Jake Hager, et al, University of Oklahoma

NORMAN, Okla. -- Dallas Morning News reports three Oklahoma football players were arrested early Thursday on alcohol-related complaints. Quarterback Brent Rawls and defensive lineman Dusty Dvoracek were arrested on public intoxication complaints, police Capt. Steve Schultz said. They were passengers in a vehicle driven by defensive lineman Jake Hager, who was cited for driving under the influence.

CONVICTED: Willie Andrews, Baylor University

LONGVIEW, Texas -- Associated Press reports Baylor football recruit Willie Andrews was sentenced to 30 days in jail and had his probation extended Thursday after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor gun charge. The 18-year-old running back and defensive back was arrested July 7 when state troopers found a .25-caliber pistol in the trunk of his car, which had broken down on Interstate 20. The Department of Public Safety said in its report that Andrews told officers he found the gun outside a bowling alley and hid it in his car.
