Representative Dave Clark is sponsoring a bill entitled Emerging Technologies and Open Government. The bill proposes a study of electronic messaging to determine what should be covered as a legal record under GRAMA. While I believe in open government, I sure hope that IM messages never become subject to GRAMA and that we are required to archive them by law. That could be very difficult (not technically). It's sort of interesting to see the records people have been trying to access through GRAMA (Government Records Access and Management Act).
The Statewide GPS Network bill is also now numbered (HB 216).
