After months of gathering and compiling information, UDOT is releasing Utah's long-range transportation plan, "Transportation 2030" to the public and seeks input to make it better. Transportation 2030 is a tool to guide investment decisions for the transportation system in order to preserve and enhance Utah's quality of life.
Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) Executive Director John Njord, Beaver City Mayor Wade Bradshaw and Utah Trucking Association President David Creer will speak tomorrow about the importance of "Transportation 2030."
The presentation will include a short demonstration (with visuals). The event is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Friday, October 3rd. The Park Library is located at 4870 South 2700 West.
For the first time, UDOT's Long Range Plan will be available in electronic formats. CD-ROMs will be placed in county libraries throughout Utah along with hard copies of the document. The Long Range Plan can also be accessed via the Internet at www.udot.utah.gov/progdev/trans2030. UDOT is committed to serving the public using forward-thinking and cost-saving technologies.
As part of the new Long Range Plan approach, the document addresses all modes of transportation in Utah. Transportation 2030 provides information on roadways, aviation, freight movement, transit, walkways and bicycle paths. This multi-modal plan outlines a broad vision for the future of Utah's transportation system. The Long Range Plan is a tool to guide investment decisions that maintain and improve the quality of life in Utah.
