The 2004 Utah! Scenic Calendar will feature another collection of stunning scenic photos of Utah's geographic beauty, plus a brief sketch of the photographer who took the photo.  You've seen the artistry of these world-renown photographers for years, now in the 2004 edition you'll have the opportunity to meet the person behind the lens.

The prestigious Utah Scenic calendar continues to capture national and international honors for design and photography in calendar competitions and is recognized as one of the world´s best.  The calendar is a beautiful gift for friends, businesses and colleagues, and is a wonderful way of showcasing our stunning state to visitors, clients and associates.

The Utah Travel Council accepts wholesale or bulk orders of 50 or more calendars. Payment can be made by check, credit card, invoice (if an account is established for you), or through IAT if a Utah state agency.  Individual orders of 49 or fewer may be purchased through the Zion Natural History Association (ZNHA) bookstore located at Council Hall, 538-1398 or at other bookstores and gift shops in the state.  You may fax the order form on the reverse side to 538-1399. The Utah Insurance Department, an agency of the state of Utah, has added a new service to its website called "Company & Agent Search."   The new page supports Governor Leavitt's goal to provide government services over the internet on a 24/7 basis.

Now, instead of calling the Insurance Department to see if an individual agency or company is licensed to sell insurance in Utah, you can find out by going to the department's website at http://www.insurance.utah.gov. and click on the "Company & Agent Search" link.  All you need is a name or license number.  Once keyed in, the new Company & Agent Search will tell you if an individual, agency or company is licensed to sell insurance in Utah, what types of insurance they can sell, the companies they can sell for, and the agents who can sell for them. 

If you find that the individual, agency or company who is trying sell you insurance is not properly licensed to do so, please call the department at (801)538-3290 to report this possible violation.

Wood burning season runs from November 1 to March 1 each winter.  During that time, the Division of Air Quality may call "no burn" days, based on pollution levels and weather/clearing index predictions.  Owners of wood stoves or fireplaces that emit visible pollutants (smoke) on these "red" days may be fined.  The restrictions apply to Utah, Salt Lake, Davis and Weber Counties.  The Bear River Health Department has its own wood-burning program affecting Cache County.

The burning process creates PM10 and PM2.5 - fine airborne particles that get trapped in the valleys during the winter months when the air is very still.   During an inversion, these particles can cause health impacts, particularly for those who have respiratory conditions.
