Something I never would have expected: Intel is publicizing VR in the classroom. Under "Innovation Odyssey" on their website, the webpage describes how Eva LaMar introduced a photo library with virtual reality to her third grade class, and talks about students making object movies. While they don't mention Apple, reading between the lines suggests that they are talking about Apple's QuickTime VR, and other documents on the web clearly spell out QuickTime VR as the technology used here.

In the battle of MPEG-4 media codecs, Australian IT claims that Dark horse DivX gains on QuickTime, but does say that "QuickTime leads the pack." No statistics are provided to support these claims.

Purpose
VRlog provides news, developments and analysis of the virtual reality (VR) world from a nature photographer's perspective. Since I am not connected to or funded by any VR vendor, I intend to objectively appraise what's going on, and the direction VR is headed in. -- erik goetze
