Kaidan has come out with a new rotator for their panoramic heads.
Backwards compatible with Quickpan models and some KiWi heads,
the QuickPan IV rotator now comes with nine detent discs (0, 2, 3, 6,
9, 10, 12, 14, 18), and the discs can be swapped out in ten seconds
without removing the head from your tripod. The discs are made from a
high-strength polymer, and have been tested to 100000 click stops
without wearing out. The detent discs are lighter and less expensive
than previous models. The new rotator continues to have a bubble level
and support both 1/4" and 3/8" thread mounts.
Comment: It sounds like they reversed the use of steel/polymer.
Previously the discs were metal, and the pin that fit into the
detents was polymer or some other non-metal material.
