Another thing I never heard of: immersive dome theatre. Now there's a website dedicated to the subject: fulldome.org. Check out the review of various immersive video capture systems by David McConville.

Mike Morper mentions that he recently updated his website with a couple useful items:

1. Photoshop action that corrects light drop-off in 8mm fisheye lens, then preps images for subsequent stitching in PTMac

2. Photoshop action for creating an anaglyph (the technical name for an image that appears to be 3D when viewed through red/blue glasses).
