German's Invade South Beach Tonight and last night, dozens of New Beetle convertibles have been parading around town under police escort. We can't help but notice, since the motorcycle cops block traffic with their sirens wailing. All the cars' tops are dropped, of course, in which position they remind me of 911 Turbo whale tail spoilers. We had no advance word of what is obviously a promotional event of some sort. Ha! As if people will talk about it... ;-) These cars are so new, they don't even appear on the VW website, yet. 10:06:06 PM    comment []

Trans fats are dangerous, but too many people are unaware of them. A Miami Herald story provides a quick intro to trans fats. Another recent report shows that 31% of Americans are obese, while only 19% think they are obese. Denial? Or lack of awareness? 10:40:07 AM    comment []
