Are bloggers and spammers the same?
It just occured to me: bloggers are spammers. We spam the world with unsolicited opinions. [Krzysztof Kowalczyk's Weblog] I am not sure what kind of reaction Krzysztof is going for with this statement. When I hear the term spammer I associate it with a person who shamelessly sends me email messages that solicit for my business. When I hear the term blogger I associate it with a person who publishes their opinions on a variety of topics that rarely solicits for my business.
I do see a major difference between the two - spam comes to you, you go/subscribe to blogs.

CNet: Novell lambastes Microsoft pricing
In a full-page advertisement in The Wall Street Journal, Novell said that Microsoft's licensing initiative "only benefits their bottom line--and not yours." In a white paper linked to the advertisement, the company warned that Microsoft's licensing plan locked customers into expensive upgrades.

Krzysztof Kowalcyzk: ideas are easy; it's the execution that matters. God is in the details.

Another CNET article on Microsoft's acquisition of XDegrees.
Microsoft already has a relationship with Groove Networks, a company whose software helps people create peer-to-peer networks to share data or work on common projects. Analysts said that while there is overlap between Groove and Xdegrees, the latter provides more of the "guts and glue" of P2P networks. In other words, both could co-exist in Microsoft's future.
