Roogle, a search engine for RSS feeds...

"Roogle is a search engine for RSS feeds. It is just starting, so it only has a limited number of feeds. Go add your favorite 'blog RSS feeds and increase the value of this tool."  [Catalogablog]

Chi Lib Rocks! has been added today.  I also ran a sample search and a number of library news blogs also provided hits.

CLS to offer Digital Project Management course:

Class Description:
This workshop is for decision makers and staff who are charged with considering a plunge into local digital conversion of collections. It will provide a basic overview of the complex, interconnected tasks and processes involved in creating digital resources -- from selection, funding, and staffing, through metadata creation, web site development, and archiving. Outsourcing versus in-house production will be compared. We'll survey features of the important building blocks for digital resources, including scanning techniques, ocr, and assets management, but we won't delve deeply into technical details or provide hands-on demonstrations. We will review current standards and best practices, and consider criteria for sustainable, usable digital resources. Experience with scanning equipment or digital cameras is helpful but not required.

Time: 01:00 PM - 04:00 PM

Date: Thursday May 15, 2003

Fee: $80.00
