Wishing that Apple went away: "It seems to me that most people who use that other kind of computer, the one that gets all the viruses and security threats, treat Apple's new computers as if they don't exist. PathFinder and Watson: good tools for Mac OS X -- Comment()
I have been using Watson instead of the Sherlock tool for two years. Why did I pay for a tool which is included with Mac OS X in a Apple-provided version? Somehow Watson just works better, and does exactly what I want. Two days ago I noticed another program which may be of similar quality: PathFinder. I have been using this replacement of Finder for a bit over one day. I feel this is what Finder should be like. However, PathFinder is not for everyone, and may be slow on older machines compared to the Finder included with Panther. PathFinder is a browser-style tool, not like the Finder in Mac OS 9. For me PathFinder works well, and there are a lot of fine features included. On my PowerBook it works better than on my iBook, because the browser windows work better with larger screens.
