Mea Culpa

Having a four letter last name that starts with a C, I thought I might qualify to weigh in on the Card / Cone debates that have gotten started in the Rhino Times. Proud of myself that I worked into my letter even a cumbersome plug for both my JBS and Libertarian friends, my screed is long on its way.

Today though, I was inspired to read some of the works of wise King Solomon. Now, I must sadly admit that my letter does have that "sneering" tone indicative of something produced by a "mocker."

Here are the pertinent proverbs to the current situation from the wisest man that ever lived (and ever will live) according to the author of the Scriptures:

"If you are wise, your wisdom will reward you; if you are a mocker, you alone will suffer." Proverbs 9-12

"Do not rebuke a mocker or he wil hate you; rebuke a wise man and he will be wiser still." Proverbs 9-8

(This letter to the N&R I sent off Friday attacking the drunken sailors who are pushovers for cute animals on our County Commission also now looks like it might have come from a sneering mocker.)
