High Dollar Workers When I ran into congressman DeMint in South Carolina a few weeks back he was touting his plan for "modernizing" the Social Security System. I finally got around to scanning in his handout so that you could see what the SS Adminstration considers a "High Income Worker." Something to keep in mind when you hear that such and such tax law will only affect high income wage earners. 8:24:30 AM comment [] |
The National Education Association (NEA) a look back... Since it has been such a stunning hit when I show it to people on my travels, I have scanned in pages from the 1948-49 and 1953-54 Handbooks of the NEA. I stumbled across these in a dive tourist shop/used book store in Michigan about seven years ago. Along with other Handbooks going up to 1963, I found them in a dusty old box together with some circa 1970 issues of Foreign Affairs. With our Congress having recently passed a bill which includes funding for the US to re-join UNESCO after an 18 year absence, I thought this historical information on UNESCO coming from the NEA would be timely. Haven't got my .pdf software working so you will have to go through the individual pages: 1948-49 (Victory Action Program edition) Handbook Cover, Foreword, Goals, Every Teacher, Legislative Policy, NEA and UNESCO, NEA and UNESCO cont., UNESCO Commission, UNESCO Commission cont. - Questions, UN Pledge, NEA and WOTP 1953-53 Goal #20, NEA Platform pg.355, pg.356, pg.357 2:19:05 AM comment [] |
