Plugged in from Korea Couldn't find an internet connection at any hotels in Japan all week, but arrived last night to the Koreana Hotel in downtown Seoul and found a high speed jack poised for use on the desk in my room...and for a very reasonable 300 won per minute no less. Here's a shot from my 13th floor hotel room looking away from the city center. Quick update: Korean economy still languishing, mainstream media position is that sending combat troops to Iraq is not a good idea but that the suzerainty of South Korea is in no position to ignore the wishes of the US, back in Japan small independent companies still struggling into a second decade of zero growth but larger connected ones can get to China fast enough to keep up with all the money they are making. The plastic resin company I worked for 16 years ago is running their chemical plants in Japan flat out with over half the production going to China -- one of the largest applications for their engineering plastic being a major component of the Sony Playstation II.
