Vmag Got my second presentation today on the Vmag technology from Ken Craven, COO of Charlotte based digital publisher New Game Communications. Here is the recap: Original Back office technology developed by an Israeli firm working for the Mossad. Software allows sever to upload data to users computers on idle bandwidth so user does not experience any slowdown on net access. Uploads remember where they left off so that even on a slow dial up connection user can eventually get entire file. Background loading means large files can be transfered invisible to user. Vmag for "video magazine" is the product being marketed by New Game. Large files (25Meg) mean you can receive a full screen top grade multimedia presentation from your favorite club, college, or other member organization. While the back office technology part is being used by Morgan Bank, New Game has been sucessful getting the likes of Georgetown University, UNC Chapel Hill and the NCAA to try out the product. Throw that all in with the Mossad connection and I figured the John Birch Society definitely needs to be looking at this as a way to deliver our monthy member bulletins. As users subscribe to you on a Vmag, you eventually build up your own private broadcast media network over the internet. The whole concept is best viewed via some demo's. They're worth it for the basketball and Dolly Parton Piedgon Forge clips alone. You just have to be comfortable that the Mossad is not still in possession of the encryption keys. I'm impressed but of course can't really push this too hard to upper management until I have at least a cursory blessing from a third party techno tracker like Ed Cone. 10:51:30 PM ![]() |
