Landfill Day Took the kids for their first trip ever to the White Street landfill to dump two loads of yard waste we'd been piling up for 3 years. Had a vague sense that the public dump is something likely hard to accommodate for libertarians unless we first make major changes as to how we assess people for trashing the environment. We drove our loads in a borrowed 25 year-old Ford F100 pickup with a faded two tone blue paint job and a red replacement door on one-side. A pile of sticks roughly covered by a flapping tarpaulin, we drew stares on the ride down Battleground to Cone Blvd. As we headed east though we began to blend into the landscape. 8:38:25 PM![]() |
