Dell Mania "...mistaking Dell for a high-tech company is a serious error on the part of the state's lost leadership." --- Jeff Taylor at The John Locke Foundation Thankfully, at least some people are still using their brains in our State. $242 million dollars is a lot of bucks for the the rest of the taxpayers of North Carolina to pick up the tab on in order to land a warehouse sized Taco Bell. Two things I was disappointed (but not surprised) to see never discussed on the Dell deal by our slavish mass media: 1) What is high tech about taking modular sub components made around the world and sliding them into pre-painted metal and plastic boxes to complete custom orders for Dell customers? 2) Not a peep (that I saw) on how the location of a FedEx hub (which we already have given away a ton of $$$ for) might be an attraction to a catalog/warehouse operation that offers to air ship its products to gotta have it now customers around the country. 12:46:59 PM![]() |
