FTAA - EU for the Americas (Yes, that means US) In case there are still any doubters out there wondering if I have lost my marbles raving on about on the FTAA becoming the European Union of the Americas, I offer you today's op-ed from the NYT. Or, you can check out the report on President Bush's fiesta down in Mexico last week as retailed by The Christian Science Montitor. Folks, this is the real deal. The powers that be above us are setting about merging our country into a new governance arrangment that is a far far cry from limited constitutional government based on free-markets and free men. Spend a few dollars to hear William F. Jasper expose "The Free Trade Trap" at the Koury Convention Center on April 20th at 7:00pm. Call 1-888-yes2-USA to reserve a ticket. If you think a new governance body (new taxes and all) above the Federal Government of the USA is a good deal, sit back at home and watch it happen. Otherwise, get activated and defend your country and your form of representative government. Tattered though they may be, they are still superior to what is planned for us in the FTAA trap. 9:52:09 PM![]() |
Free thinking GOP Congressmen (yes, there are a few) Jones (NC) and Goode (VA) attempt to (.pdf) set record straight: "This is a concerted effort to spread disinformation about the true nature of the situation in Washington." (EDITOR'S NOTE: This is a boilerplate phrase now in our Central Government. Only the last word has to be changed to fit the particular need.) Tell your congressman you support a NO vote on CAFTA. Before the election, all 13 of them in NC signed a pledge to vote against if it it contained the wording it now does. But, as you can imagine now that the election is over, some of them need reminding. 8:03:22 PM![]() |
State Schools on tap to fix non-problem in non-public education. The buzz of concerned e-mails and phone calls at the end of last week was the likely cause of this official statement from Governor Easley's office regarding the proposed transfer of "The Division of Non-Public Education" into the Department Of Public Instruction. 7:07:23 PM![]() |
Tax dollars for Hooters! From Common Cause (Yep, like the JBS, they are hangin in there.) "What does a comprehensive energy policy for the United States and Hooter's have in common? Not much. Yet, that is exactly what appeared in the version of the energy bill that came out of conference committee - subsidies to build, among other things, a Hooter's restaurant in Shreveport, Louisiana." You can only imagine what goes on in deals outside our border. I am going to use this now as an example of how the promoters of free trade in our government are not speaking the same language of the Austrian-School economists. 6:50:24 PM![]() |
