Except as proscribed by law... If you are wondering what American blood and money is being spent on in Iraq here are a few excerpts from the new Constitution of Iraq now in its final stages. (courtesy of Justin Raimondo.) "There is no censorship on newspapers, printing, publishing, advertising, or media except by law." "Citizens' private lives are protected. Citizens may enjoy it in compliance with moral values and decency. No citizen has the right to deviancy in the use of his right or to exercise any of his rightsc" It does not appear that the US Constitution is being used as a template here in our attempt to "spread democracy throughout to the world." Looks instead like they are working from this document: Article 29.(1) Everyone has duties to the community in which alone the free and full development of his personality is possible. (2) In the exercise of his rights and freedoms, everyone shall be subject only to such limitations as are determined by law solely for the purpose of securing due recognition and respect for the rights and freedoms of others and of meeting the just requirements of morality, public order and the general welfare in a democratic society. (3) These rights and freedoms may in no case be exercised contrary to the purposes and principles of the ... ![]() |
