UN supporter in Greensboro gets nasty

Driving home from church on Sunday a late model GMC or Chevy pick-up decked out to about $30,000 pulled up along side of us while making the left hand turn from New Garden Road to Horse Pen Creek (right in front of St. Paul's). The 30-ish weight club type guy driving the truck honked his horn and yelled out his window, "Great bumper sticker...A**HOLE!"

My Acura has a 5 year-old classic Birch bumper sticker on it that says, "Get US out of the United Nations."

I generally don't think of fanatical UN supporters as buff guys driving 10 MPG trucks and screaming obscenities at strangers, but there you have it. Maybe he was dyslectic or maybe he has close friend or relative that was killed in Iraq and has mistaken the UN as a peace organization rather than the war organization it was designed to be. (Check with Iraq and soon Iran if you need me to backup that dig.)

A block after accosting us, the loud mouthed Sunday driver turned onto Quaker Run. I half considered pursuing him to strike up a conversation, but reconsidering the blind rage on his face when he screamed his remark, I decided he was a guy not to be reasoned with, even if it turned out we were on the same side of the war issue.
